Ginette created Applewood to give rabbits the space, comfort and understanding she struggled to find in holiday care.

After more than 15 years living with and caring for rabbits, including rescues, Ginette knew good boarding had to be more than a clean hutch.
Rabbits need meaningful floor space, places to retreat, familiar food and a carer who recognises the small signs that something has changed.
Applewood opened in 2019 with purpose-built garden lodges. Each space has continued to evolve around the way rabbits move, rest, hide and explore.
A short guest list, never a boarding warehouse
Applewood stays deliberately small. Every booking has a private lodge of its own, and there are only ever a handful of guests on site.

A smaller guest list leaves time for day-to-day care, replenishing hay, cleaning, enrichment, quiet company and those all-important head rubs.
Real seasonal comfort
The lodges use heating in colder weather and air conditioning, air cooling or fans as conditions warm, with shade and airflow considered around each space.
Updates with substance
Photos and videos through WhatsApp or Facebook help owners see how their rabbits have settled, without taking attention away from care.

Ginette has shared her life with many rabbits over the years, including rescues, each with their own personality, routines and ways of communicating.
Those years of hands-on experience inform every choice made for guests: room to move, somewhere to hide, hygienic surfaces and a daily routine that respects rabbits as rabbits.
