The Applewood pantry
A familiar rabbit boarding menu
Applewood supplies unlimited hay, fresh herbs, a few healthy treats and safe twigs. You bring their usual dry food or pellets, plus dry forage if that replaces pellets.
Pack from home
Bring the dry food they already eat
A holiday is not the right moment for an unplanned diet change.
- Enough of their usual dry food or pellets for every day of the stay
- Dry forage if that replaces pellets in their normal diet
- Clear feeding quantities and any foods that must be avoided
- A preferred hay only when your rabbit is unusually selective and this has been discussed
Tell us what normal looks like
The detail that helps most is simple: what, when and how much each rabbit usually eats.
Before the stay
Avoid introducing new pellets, rich treats or unfamiliar forage close to arrival. Write down normal portions, favourite herbs and any known food sensitivities.
During the stay
Food intake, droppings and behaviour are important signs. If a rabbit’s pattern changes, Applewood follows the health and veterinary-care process in the boarding terms.
After the stay
Return to the usual home routine. Contact a rabbit-savvy vet promptly if eating, droppings or behaviour cause concern.
