Rabbit boarding vaccination requirements
Every guest needs in-date protection against myxomatosis, RHD1 and RHD2 throughout their stay. Check vaccination and expiry dates before booking.
Protection must cover the whole stay
Applewood’s boarding terms specify Nobivac RHVD PLUS, in date for the whole of the boarding period. Read the vaccination terms.
If your vaccination card shows a different product or schedule, send a clear copy and ask before booking.
Vaccination is an entry requirement, not a substitute for being fit to board.
A rabbit with signs of illness needs veterinary advice and may not be accepted even when their record is current.

Two timing rules, depending on the record

First vaccination or overdue booster
It must be given at least 21 full days before arrival. A late vaccination cannot be replaced by a waiver.

Routine booster while cover is current
It must be given at least 8 full days before arrival. This avoids a booster immediately before the disruption of travel and boarding.

Arrival day
Bring or upload the clear vaccination record. Applewood can refuse boarding if a rabbit or record does not meet the requirements.
The record check
Send the evidence early
A clear copy gives time to resolve a missing name, unclear date or incomplete page before travel plans become difficult to change.
- The record identifies each rabbit clearly
- Myxomatosis, RHD1 and RHD2 protection is shown
- The vaccine remains in date through collection day
- The vaccine name, administration date and veterinary details are readable
- The timing window is complete before arrival
Vaccinated and fit to board are different checks
Tell Applewood about any change in health or treatment, even after the booking has been confirmed.
Discuss before booking
Current or previous contagious illness, respiratory symptoms, long-term medication, recent stasis, surgery, anaesthetic or dental work can affect whether non-clinical boarding is suitable.
Recheck before travel
Changes in appetite, droppings, energy, breathing, eyes, nose or the condition around the bottom need prompt attention. Contact your vet and Applewood before setting off.
